what do you want to be when you grow up?

you can be whatever, you can be it all. <3

I keep getting asked what I’m going to do after I graduate, what kind of job I’m going to get. I’m an English major and a lot of people automatically assume that I’m going into teaching…um, that’s actually a different major. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I graduate but I’m pretty certain that the path to where I need to be will be filled with adventure, learning, and creating connection. I’m open to that.

Superpowers of being a multipotentialite:
Idea Synthesis – combining two or more fields and creating something new at the intersection. innovation.
Rapid Learning – we’re used to being beginners and we’re less afraid of trying new things and stepping out of our comfort zones. lots of previous knowledge to apply to new things.
Adaptability – the ability to adapt to whatever you need to be in any situation.

I never really knew what I wanted to do when I got done with college. I was a Communications major and I figured I’d go into journalism in some capacity. But by the time I graduated, that just didn’t feel right. I found myself a good paying job (that I didn’t enjoy), and let myself get stuck there for ten years. Now I am back out in the world, still unsure of what I want to do (I’ve tried wedding photography and now blogging and landscape photography). All I know is that I need to be creative. Beyond that, I am simply taking it one day at a time and figuring it out as I go. I don’t have a plan, but I’m sure enjoying the adventure of living in the moment, learning new things and getting to know who I am.

You will figure it out. Just enjoy the journey. You can’t have this time back, so you might as well make it awesome.
