Reading Goals for 2021

I have felt in such a reading slump since graduating with an English degree a few years ago. I now know that this is a common experience and people have to re-learn what brought them there to begin with.

When you make something you love to do into something you have to do, some of the magic becomes lost.

I’m plunging in deep this year. I want to read more books than I have in any other year. I want to not hold myself to any kind of ideas or self judgements but rather allow exploration, whim, and joy.

Growing up, I memorized lists of the classics and scoured thrift stores to find them. Now I’m wanting to focus on books by indigenous authors, poetry, graphic novels, and the occasional thriller.

I’ve also started to sell some of the books and literary magazines I’m ready to part with on Depop so check that out if you’re looking for something good to read.

What’s on your reading list for 2021? How has your reading life changed through the years?

what do you want to be when you grow up?

you can be whatever, you can be it all. <3

I keep getting asked what I’m going to do after I graduate, what kind of job I’m going to get. I’m an English major and a lot of people automatically assume that I’m going into teaching…um, that’s actually a different major. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I graduate but I’m pretty certain that the path to where I need to be will be filled with adventure, learning, and creating connection. I’m open to that.
